I love books! I also write them. FYI: I use this space for recs of books I wholeheartedly love only. My recs are honest, but I have social relationships with some of the romance authors whose books I rec.

Something About You - Julie James

This book was fabulous. Everyone was so professional and competent and reasonable! (Seriously, if you want to sell me on a book or TV show, tell me everyone in it is good at what they do and takes their job seriously. I'm a sucker for that, and it's weirdly rare, especially in stories about cops and lawyers.) I loved her friends, I loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, I loved how smart everyone was in dramatic confrontations with the villian, I loved Jack's romantic-comedy-savvy partner, and I loved that Cameron scripts her sexual fantasies with witty dialogue--guess I'm not the only one! (Sorry if that was Too Much Information.)

Something struck me, too, that wasn't entirely about this book but more about contemporaries in general (I don't read that many of them): historicals are my one true love, but it was really nice to read about a sexually experienced heroine who's totally comfortable thinking and talking about sex. Maybe my next heroine should be a widow...
